Renato Gamba Daytona Grade 7 W/ Detachable Trigger Group Renato Gamba Grade 7, detachable trigger group, three sets of barrels. The detachable trigger on this gun is the neatest thing... It is also very well made! I have shot this gun and it is wonderful. The reciever is fully covered in very well done open scroll with game scenes on both sides. The engraving is signed Bottega Giovanelli. The action is coin finished and very tight. The trigger group is removed by a button at the back of the trigger guard and is single selective. There are three sets of barrels with this gun and all are very well fitted and tight. The first set are 30" and have chokes of: .018/.021. The second set are 28" and have chokes of: .012/.016. The third set are Teague choked and 27" long. All of these sets have full length vent ribs and the blue on all is at 90% quality. The wood is of very good quality with flat chequering that is very clean. The stock has nice figure with a lop of 14 1/2" to a brown silvers pad. The drop is 2 1/2". The action on this gun is a 7 pin with double triggers and a dolls head third fastener, well done deco style engraving on a coin background, toplever, auto safety, well timed ejectors. The barrels are 29" with very clean bores that measure: .739/.740 and chokes: .006/.031, 2 3/4" chamber, 1 1/4oz nitro proof, strong blue, no rib. The stock is a straight hand, splinter with strong chequering and blue, 3 piece fore end, 14 1/2" lop to a thin horn buttplate, 2 1/2" dah, 1 3/4" dac, 6lbs 9oz. This shotgun has a really nice feel and is very well balanced. These are fairly rare and it was Edwinson Green who was the designer of the first Purdey o/u guns.
