Winchester Model 70 Pre 64 30-06 Target Rifle Winchester Model 70 Pre 64 30-06 Target Rifle Wartime Production 1942 Manufacture with proper U.S. ordinance marks. The action on this rifle is extremely clean with good original blue and function. The froward ring has a mount for a Lyman scope. The barrel is 24" with a very good bore and the proper Winchester markings and ordinance proofs. The forward sight has a blank installed with the rear sight being filled with a Lyman mount. The stock is a later style replacement with a proper 13 1/4" lop to a factory buttplate. The finish appears to be original with the only incorrect thing being a bit of glass filler at the rear of the cloverleaf action. These rifles were purchased during the second world war for rifle training by the U.S military. The bore is very strong, 24" barrel and there is a blank in the rear with the original hooded front sight. The barrel markings are very clear and the barrel blue is 50% with some loss ahead of the chamber on the top of the barrel. The stock is a very nicely figured, original with a Shelhamer applied cheek piece and finish by the same.
